Mission

The mission of the Finance Department is to provide timely and accurate financial information for the citizens, governing officials, oversight bodies, resource providers, investors, and creditors of Blue Earth County.


Responsibilities

The Finance Department is responsible for a variety of functions including;
  • Management of County Investments
  • Financial Reporting
  • Accounting for and Dispersing of County Funds
  • Computation of Tax Rates and Final Preparation of Tax Lists
  • Distribution of Property Tax Funds to Jurisdictions
  • Coordination of County Debt and Financing
  • Development of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
  • Annual Audit Coordination
  • Preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
  • Assistance to County Departments with Operational Budget Management
  • Oversee License Center operations

Budget Information
