Permits for Installing a Septic System
Installation of all septic systems must be done according to an approved design from a
licensed septic system designer. The installation permit from the department is issued after:
- Soil verification by the County
- Design requirements have been submitted and approved
- Permit fee has been paid
- Operating permit (when applicable) has been applied for
- Easement Agreement (when applicable) has been recorded
The installation permit is followed by a site inspection during the installation of the septic system. Once the system passes inspection, a certificate of compliance is issued for that system.
