The Housing Choice Voucher Program, commonly referred to as the "Section 8 Program", enables low-income families in Blue Earth County, MN to rent safe housing that is affordable in the private market through funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. By enrolling in the program you will receive a voucher that allows a portion of your rent to be paid directly to the property manager or property owner by the Housing Authority.
The wait list for the Housing Choice Voucher Program is currently open.
Applications are available online. If you have a disability or language barrier, you may request accommodation in order to apply by contacting the EDA at 311 or 507-387-8600 and we can schedule an appointment.
The Housing Authority accepts applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program through a lottery.
