How do your program's subsidies work?
The South Central Supportive Housing Initiative, through a partnership with Hearth Connection, is able to provide subsidies through several different funding sources.
• Continuum of Care (CoC) rental assistance subsidies may be available for persons who meet the definition of “Chronically Homeless.”
• Minnesota Housing Finance Agency rental assistance subsidies may be available for persons who meet the definition of “Long-term Homeless.”
• All of the rental assistance subsidies are similar to Section 8. They are based on 30% of a household's income and all rental units must pass a Housing Quality Standards Inspection. An annual recertification process is performed to assure that all guidelines continue to be met (including, but not limited to income review and housing inspection).
• All rental assistance subsidies provided through the South Central Supportive Housing Initiative require cooperation with case management services.
