Mental Health Services
The Minnesota Comprehensive Mental Health Act (1987) requires that county human service agencies provide or contract with a private agency to assure the availability of mental health services to residents of each county.
Blue Earth County Human Services provides mental health services directly to eligible adults and children who are Blue Earth County residents.
National Health Service Corps (NHSC)
Blue Earth County Mental Health Center is a member of National Health Service Corps (NHSC). NHSC is a network of more than 9,000 primary health care professionals that provide medical, dental, and mental and behavioral health services in communities designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) across the country that have limited access to health care. In exchange for their service, NHSC provides clinicians with financial support in the form of loan repayment and scholarships. Corps members fulfill service requirements by working at NHSC-approved sites.
As a National Health Service Corps site, we promise to:
- Service all patients;
- Offer discounted fees for patients who qualify;
- Not deny services based on a person's race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, or sexual orientation; and
- Accept patients covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
